Default 09 Accord EX security system issue

Got a weird issue with security system a couple days ago...

The car was parked in a mall parking lot, it was cold that day, after I entered the car and closed the door immediately by pulling the door lock tab, i realized that the security system light was still on, obviously when I opened the door, the alarm was triggered, I had to unlock with car key transmitter.

Normally the security system light should go off after door is open, right?

Anybody had similar issue? Any help will be appreciated...

If you opened the door with a key, then you didnt disarm the alarm.

You have to hit the unlock button before you can open doors.

I did use unlock button on the key to unlock the door, not using key itself.

Okay then, let me get this straight.

Walking to the car la de da de da
Hit the unlock button, you open the door, alarm goes off, you hit the unlock button to silence the alarm and when you get in the alarm light was on?

I have an aftermarket alarm, but if the alarm is triggered the light will stay on or blink if the alarm has been set off recently and then it goes away once I start the car.

Here is what I did:

I walked to the car.
I hit unlock button on the key twice to open all 4 doors.
I opened the door and sit on driver seat.
I closed the door, and put on seat belt.
I pulled (or pushed) the lock tab so all four doors are locked.

At this point to my surprise I realized the security system light was still on.

Then I opened the door, which triggered the alarm, so I hit unlock button to stop the alarm.

Hmm... okay that is odd, it may be just a one time thing. It may be because you locked the doors with the engine off, which may be a feature of the alarm to autoarm itself in case the owner forgets to. See if you can repeat it and read the instruction manual for the alarm.

I checked the manual... no hint...

I guess I'll check with the dealer.

Thanks for your reply.

I just cant resist...
With a 2009 Accord, EVERY repair is done exactly the same way.

1 - drive to the dealer.
2 - walk in & say I HAVE A WARRANTY - PLEASE FIX IT.[sm=icon_rock.gif]
