Jim, we all do...just like my post where the ICM can be on the inside or outside (TEC vs Hitch dist-forget which is in the outside and which is inside---could go outside and look but its too cold-I think my 87 LX is inside and the others are on the outside...or other way around?)....To the OP, sorry for this rambling between Jim and I.

As stated by TX-reman, e-bay, or bone yard dist might be a cheaper option...call/search around and see what you can find-EDIT: or keep tapping until is doesn't work or you get tired of doing it.

 

Poorman, maybe you know...

If he replaces the whole distributor (junkyard), does it HAVE to match? Or are the Hitachi vs. TEC distributors interchangable? (as long as he gets one from a carburator car)

 

Honestly don't know, other than what you stated on Carb vs EFI....I smell a project between the 87 LX and 89 LX coming.....
