1988 honda accord new to me. loss of acceleration problem

Default 1988 honda accord new to me. loss of acceleration problem

Recently was given a 1988 honda accord from grandma for my sons first car. changed axels, plugs, cap, rotor, wires and upper fuel filter. teaching son how to drive over the last month. be out for hours having no problems. yesteday put 2 new tires on hit the highway with ac on,accelerating up to speed the car started loosing power. i found that if i kept gas peddal down it wouldn't die. i limped the car home. this morning i started car and runs normal. may I have some advice on this problem please? had erattic transmission shifting to

Carb LX or fuel injected LXi?
car is running normal now, even after warm up?

lx with carb.....have not run up too operating temp yet.

car seems to be running fine rt now, i dont know what caused that major loss of acceleration yesterday. help with any ideals. thanks
