Default 1989 Accord LX Carb to fuel injection swap

I have a 1989 accord lx with five speed manual. Just got the car cheap had to put a tranny in it. Car runs good but has high idle when cold and then extremely low idle and almost dies at stop lights. Rather than fix the carb issues I am wondering how hard it is to convert to fuel injection. Has anyone done this or know what is compatible for this car I cannot find any good info on it.
Thanks

My guess is that it won't be worth the time or money to convert it. It would be way cheaper to fix the carb.

I am not familiar with troubleshooting a carb. I know that there should be a sticker under the hood showing the vacuum tube routing in the car. I would inspect all the vacuum tubing and replace any cracked/dry-rotted tubing.

Next I would download a 89 shop manual from the spooner link in the online manuals thread in the DIY section. That will have a ton of information on the carb.

I am not worried about the cost of switching over I am wondering if it is feasible to switch it over just by swapping the fuel injection "stuff" from an injected car.

Anything is possible.

You would probably have to buy the upper half of the fuel injected engine. That would include the intake, injectors, distributor, valve cover, etc.

The lower half of the engine should be the same between the two cars, but I am not sure about that either. The wire harness and engine computer from a FI accord. I think the fuel pumps are different. Probably the fuel hoses from tank to the engine bay. The FI accord controls air/fuel ratio using an O2 sensor. I don't know what the carb accord uses.

There could be a host of other sensors, controls, etc that you would need from the FI accord. You would have to look at the list of parts that are different between an 89 FI vs 89 Carb accord. This would be a pretty involved project.

You might even have to get the wiring harness from a FI car. For all I know your car might not have the mounting brackets for the ECU? Maybe the fuelpump back inside the fuel tank is different? FI cars have a recirculating system where fuel returns back to the tank - you may or may not have the return line... You can see the potential costs getting bigger & bigger.

Ok thanks a lot. What about emission removal? Are there a lot of things that can be done to these to remove the emissions stuff for the carb version? I have seen people put simplistic weber carbs on these and remove all the vaccuum line stuff... is this a plausable thing or does it ruin drive ability?

Emissions...don't know, that will depend on the state and local laws. As stated, both options have been done-Weber or FI...look for 3geez in google. I'm thinking of dropping the 88 LXi ~springtime-tags are up, taxes are due. Anyway, as suggested, download the manual-either way you go it will come in handy....I'm going to bet someone adjusted the base idle trying to overcome the high idle when cold...

Thanks for your help. Are there any other good forums for this kind of information?
