1989 Honda Accord LXi P/S Pressure Hose Help!!! Please!!!
So i bought a new P/S pressure hose because it was leaking power steering fluid through the hose and when i check the under the hood the stock one inside the car had some type of sensor socket or chip type of thing connected to the pressure hose. So i have no idea what it is for...the one i bought does not have it attached to it. Here a pic of the one that i bought online...

ummmmm well, trying to have a flashback.
I think it was a pressure sensor to signal the computer if the steering was under high load, as in turned all the way to lock.
You should be able to get away not using it, but might have engine stumble if you turn the steering all the way to one side or the other.
Be sure to rewrap the insulation around the hose where it passes over the exhaust manifold when you do the replacement. The heat will cook the hose with out protection.

the first hose you got is for the DX LX models. the LXI is the only one that has the opening for the sensor , you have to remove the old sensor and reinstall it on the new hose ,, I am yet to find a hose that comes with the sensor installed ..
pay close attention how to route that hose ,, it could be fun .
