Default 1989 honda accord lxi

i have a standard accord but i want to do it automatic.. i am new to honda so my question is what automatic transmission will fit my accord and would it be bolt on or do i need to do any adjustments.. thanks

Welcome....thanks for joining.

Going from a manual to auto or auto to manual is not as easy as you think, can be done.......and then personally I'd want the manual but that is me.

Ok, so you have to remove the trans, replace, run the cooling lines, change the shifter, some of the electrical stuff, replace one of the cv shafts, a few switches, change mounts.....for now that is a high level description......

going std to auto i agree with keep it std.. but its not mine its my sister.. i have a 99 civic and a 280zx both std.. and do u know the yr of accord that will fit i want to say 86-89 due to its the third generation but not sure..

I just switched my auto to a manual - what is job it was.

You sister would be better off selling the Honda and buying one with an auto
