Default Buying a used Accord 2004. Need help.

Hello everyone.
First of all, i apologize if i am not posting in the correct section. Admin, please move if needed.

I might be purchasing a used 2004 accord EX Auto V6.
Here is the link :
2004 Used Honda Accord Cpe EX Auto V6 w/Leather/XM at Audi Chantilly Serving Washington, D.C., Fairfax, VA, IID 8262088

I would like to know if there are specific itmes i need to check prior to considering this model. I am coming from a 325i BMW and there are a few items on the bimmers that are prone to failures.
Anyone knows about defects, flaws, recalls, weak spots etc on this model ?
I appreciate your help.

That model has a timing belt. In the owner's manual, there should be a recommended mileage/years to change the timing belt. I can't remember the miles/years for that accord. I would ask if there are records of if/when the timing belt was changed.

I haven't heard of too many specific problems with the 04 accords.

When buying a new car, most people recommend that you take the car to an independent shop to get a buyer's inspection.

Thank you for the information.
Is replacing the timing belt a doable DIY? I ve got some greese on my hands from my 325i and if it doesnt require pulling engine out - can i do it myself?

Timing belt on a 4-cyl Honda is doable but lots of people are intimidated by the difficulty in removing the crankshaft pulley bolt. The 6-cyl has more pulleys, and perhaps a little bit less room in the engine bay, but it's been done at home by a few people here.

I did the timing belt on my 03 V6 in the driveway, but I needed to borrow a BIG impact gun to remove the crank bolt. A brand new IR 550 ftlb impact couldn't budge it. I would suggest acquiring a Helm service manual to get all the specifics.

"EX-L" is a kind of unwritten designation. I don't think the chrome badge on the trunk says "-L".
