Default 1989 Honda Accord transmission

I've got a friend who just bought a 1989 Honda Accord I'm assuming with the 2.2L with a automatic transmission and she thinks the transmission has went out so I told her to check the fluid and she said the "top" wouldn't come off. I'm gonna go check it out my self and my question is am I correct in saying that the dipstick is at the front passenger side of the motor under some radiator hoses?
Thanks I'm a Chevy guy and haven't worked on many hondas.

It should be in that general area. If your friend has the owner's manual, it should show you the location.

Depending on the trim level, and who knows what has happened in the last ~27 years, these came with two types of "trans dipsticks" - the ones that just pull out and then there were ones that "screwed" in.

So does it have a "loop" to pull on or does it look like a BIG flat head screwdriver blade?
