First off no need to disconnect the battery........Trust me ...
You need a phillip screwdriver to remove the steering wheel covers , both lower and upper,5 or 6 screws,, the switch plugs in the fuse box under dash, left side , unplug the switch, follow the harness,, there are 2 screws you have to remove to separate the electrical part from the mechanical part ,, they are not 8 mm ,, they are either 5 or 6 mm ,,( I believe 6 mm ) you need a 1/4 inch socket and rachet to remove those ..
Once removed, unclip the harness ,, install all in reverse order, make sure to route the harness properly or the steering wheel covers will not fit properly

SO BY LOOKING AT THE SCHEMATICS, THE PIECE I NEED IS THE WIRE HARNESS FROM THE IGNITION. THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE KEY?

SO IF I GOTO THE DEALER I CAN SOUND LIKE I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT

I WILL TAKE IT APART AND CHECK IT OUT TONIGHT.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP....

Thanks for everybody's help. I replaced the electrical component in the ignition ($50), and she fires right up. Problem solved.

Good to go here in MN...

Does the SRS system and airbag need to be disabled to perform this switch replacement?
