Let me start by saying....I love people who love HONDAS!

Okay....so I just bought a beautifully maintained 90 accord lx automatic with only 90,000 miles on it. It is amazing, amazing, amazing.

Driving home today the CEL came on...it also stalled at a few lights. I pulled the code and got a 12. I find that it's the EGR valve or something in that region right?

I can't do much more myself (despite having replaced an o2 sensor on my old 88...and it being the greatest day of my life) so I am wondering how much this whole procedure might/should run me at the shop. I found and EGR valve for about $100 online...any thoughts on all this.

Also, I need to fix AC on the car at some point...how much might that cost me....

You need to diagnose the problem first. It's possible it has a bad egr valve. More likely there is a problen in the egr vacuum controls or the electrical controls.
