Default 1991 Accord H22A starting problem

Okay, so I just bought a 1991 Accord 5 speed with an H22A, remote start, and vtec controller. I was driving it home from picking it up and it died on me in the middle of the highway . We tried jumping it right there but didnt turn over so we pushed it into a parking lot and push started it and it drove fine with a little bit of RPM drop here and there at idle. It died again and it started right back up. I got it home, let it sit for half an hour, took it back out and died on me and I couldn't start it, jump it, or push start it. I got it towed back to my house and I started looking and hearing for things. The fuel pump isn't priming itself because I can't hear it. All I hear when I turn the key to accessory is a click or pop coming from under the hood near the fuse box/distributer area. I took the main relay/ECU fuse out of the fuse box and the click/pop stopped. When on accessory, the check engine light is on and i have tried diagnosing it but the CEL stays solidly lit. I'm really at a loss here. Can anyone please help?

ok that’s a stock h22a ECU so you should have no issue there. Sometimes ppl use a f22b1 ecu and it does not work very well.
How does the dizzy look? Pop the cap and make sure your igniter is still good. Also if any corrosion clean it off.
Check your plugs and wires. Start breaking down the basics.
Make sure you have spark and fuel....when you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump priming?? Don't try and start just turn to pos 2.

So there's no spark and i cant hear the fuel pump prime. How much space should there be between the distributor cap and the rotor?

wow sounds like they guy you bought it from knew this all was happing and wanted to get out from underneath the car so he didn't have to repair. That sux man. Look in the DIY are and see download a shop manual it should tell you. I truly don't remember how much gap sorry.

Best way to see if you are getting fuel is to try and start the car few times. Then pop the fuel line off the fuel rail and see if there is gas. IF so then it's most likely your dizzy.

The check engine light should turn off after 2 seconds after i turn the key to pos. II, but it doesnt. I tried to diagnose it myself with a tiny wire in the two slots of that plug, but the CEL stays solid and doesnt go away.
