Hey guys, I have an oil leak in my 91 Accord sedan. The pictures below show the leak which is right near my passenger side wheel on the side of the engine. Let me know if anyone has seen a leak like this before and could help point me in the right direction. I noticed the black cover in the picture. It seems like the leak is coming from under it or above it. I didn't want to take it off until I knew what it was.

 

I would clean the engine with degreaser to remove most of the oil. Finding the highest point on the engine should pinpoint your oil leak.

On the pass. side, the distributor o-ring leaking oil is a common problem. Try to feel under the distributor for oil. Also the valve cover gasket is another possibiltiy for an oil leak.

 

Well, I did notice the distributor leaking and replaced that o-ring already. I thought that would fix everything but there is still another spot leaking somewhere below the battery near the wheel well. I need to really get into it and take a look. It is a pretty tight squeeze on that side.

 

It could be the transmission leaking. I would clean it all off and try to pinpoint it.

 

I thought about the transmission, but the oil doesn't have a red tint to it.

 

with all the grime and such that collects near that area being so close to the road, it could very well be tranny fluid and you not notice the red tint.
