First of all, I would check for codes. Read the thread in the DIY section called how to check cel codes.

i mentioned previously that since the problem began numerous times i have checked for codes and none have been stored. apparently this self-diagnosis system on my car is not functioning. thanks,

The OEM part number for your ECU is:

37820-PT3-A50
or A51, A52, or A53

The 50-53 are different revisions.

hello PA:

hmm, why would i want to know the OEM part number for my ECU? i haven't determined that it needs replacing. i don't understand why you provided that.

Sorry, I wanted to give you the TCU OEM part number.

It is:

28100-PX0-822
or
28100-PX0-823

I think that you need to figure out what the TCU is detecting. The LED in the window should help. Since you have a burning smell, you should also check the fuses to see if one of them burned out.
