Would like to have a fairly detailed description of the 1992 Accord SOHC 2.2 engine -- like recommended octane rating, compression ratio, type of valves, ignition system, timing requirements, recommended oils, ETC, ETC, ETC.

Also, any problem areas to watch out for?

as far as problems to watch out for just look up recalls/consumer reviews in google... One of the issues to watch for is window regulators/motors for power windows. other than that just make sure it's maintained correctly and the timing belt is changed every 70-90,000 miles, if that belt brakes your engine could be toast.
