1992 Accord rough cold start
Hey there, new guy here
Car is a 1992 Honda Accord LX, automatic, 227k on the clock.
Runs like a champ, doesn't burn oil or leak it.
Has a tough time starting in cold weather. If I let it sit overnight it takes about 5-6 times to start it. This includes turning it over, it starting for a second, then sputtering out. When it finally starts going it's pretty rough (below 700rpm) then goes up to high idle. A CEL comes on, and the D4 light blinks on the dash. It doesn't seem to miss any gears, and runs fine afterwards.
The code doesn't get stored so I can't check what it is. Any ideas?

Nothing different. I'm assuming the jumper i'm jumping is right. Just a blue two wire plastic plug. When i took the kick-panel off, there was a larger black plug with a clear end over that.

with jumped does the same as without jumped. The CEL comes on for a few seconds then turns off, but doesn't come back on. If I start it and it doesn't have any issues starting, there is no check engine light. If I restart it after I've had an issue starting it, the code isn't stored in the engine.
if that makes any sense.

This is a hard one for me.....sounds like an ecu issue, lights blink but no code stored.
There is a tiny little ground on the T-Stat housing, lower hose connects to engine. Remove it and clean the contact points and re-install........see what you have from there.
Another thing to try, if this happens again.....don't shut the car off and jump the service connector an see if any codes are "present".
