Default 1992 accord transmisson issues

This is my wifes accord and after being driven for a min the d4 light starts flashing and it seems like it only has 1st and 4th gears. Anyone have any ideas.

check your codes but it sounds like it’s your solenoids....very common to our gen accords

Flashing D4 is the "check-engine" light for transmission errors.
Short the SCS connector just like you're checking for CEL codes. But it's the D4 light that flashes it's code instead of (or along with) the CEL. The trans code list is different from the CEL codes. Post back what you get.
