Default 1993 accord high mileage

Hi I wanna buy a Honda accord 1990-1993 model. There is one 1993 I'm particularly interested in thats got about 300k on it. I'ts been meticulously cared for(oil changes every 3k and other book maintenance). It's a lot of miles but I've seen some of these go up to 400-500k before. How long do you think this will last me if I keep up the maintenance? Or should I get one with 100-200k miles? Im just worried that one with lower miles will have problems because it may have sat. -thanks!

You should be fine. My 2000 has just crossed the 250K threshold and she runs like a champ. If the car has been well maintained, it has a lot of life left in it.

You should get a used car inspection before buying any used car. Try to find an independent shop that has a good reputation and specializes in Hondas or foreign cars. They might find some stuff that will need repaired so you aren't surprised. You could negotiate a bit with the seller.

Definitely find out when and how many miles since the last time they changed the timing belt.

There are some good Youtube videos on buying used cars by ericthecarguy and schrodinger's box that you should watch.

Not sure if you do your own car work. If you don't, then repairing a 25 year old vehicle with 300K miles can get expensive.

I had a '93 and now a '92, 5-spd tranny both.

Current '92 has 263,000 miles and was well maintained with oil changes every 4000 by prior owner ( I purchased at 203,000). 1st two years I put zero $ into repairs - 'twas beautiful. Mechanics: My '92 car uses oil moderately and I just accept that; causes no driveability problems, no visible smoke. Redone AC - for the new refrigerant - is ice cold and the heater has drawn praises from riders in the cold months.

Note, if you get a wet trunk when it rains hard, look to the seals around the tail lights. This was true for both of my 92, 93 year cars.

Those are good Accord years, in my view - cars superior to those of the '94 - '97 years, IMHO.

I sold my 93 with 360k on it only because my father gave me his 94 with 60k on it.
If it has been maintained it should last a long time even with 300k on it.
I got the 93 new when I was 17 and while I meticulously maintained it, I also drove it like I stole it.
Tough cars. I much preferred the 93 to the 94 I have now.

Ignore the post I just deleted. I accidentally responded to a question from a different thread on your thread.
