Cool 1993 honda accord dx

how do I remove and replace a starter

A start is posting in the correct section. DIY is not for questions. Read posting rules.

1) Disconnect negative battery cable at battery
2) Disconnect starter electrical connections; one small wire and large postive battery cable connection.
3) Remove two bolts holding starter in place.

It may be easier to do 3) ahead of 2) to gain access to electricals, but may be harder to reach bolts.

Bolts may be very tight. You may need a breaker bar to break bolts loose.

You might be able to save yourself some cash by replacing the starter contacts.

Cave man test is to have someone hold the key in the 'crank' position and you tap on the starter body to see if the starter starts cranking.

There is someone selling the starter contacts on ebay now, less than $15 a set I think
