That would be transmission code 1 and code 8.

Code 1 is electrical fault in Lock-up Control Solenoid A (failed solenoid, wiring, or connector). Solenoid is more likely, but read on.

Code 8 is shift control solenoid B electrical fault (solenoid, wiring, or connector).

LU Control Solenoid A and Shift Control Solenoid B are on front side of engine. The shift control solenoid is forward and below the LU control solenoid. The solenoids are in A & B pairs. In both cases, the solenoid is the most forward unit of the pair.

Suggest checking both solenoids for obvious corrosion, damage or disconnected. If all looks OK, then reset ECU by pulling BackUp fuse (inside position, rear row) for 20 secs to reset ECU, and then recheck codes as soon as they return.

If both codes return immediately, the solenoids are likley open. You can check this w/ a volt-ohm meter. If infinite resistance on two electrical contacts of solenoid, it's failed. Replace failed solenoids.

good luck

Thank you very much for the informative reply, I will check for corrosion tonight and reset the ecu then check for codes saturday. Thanks again
