Default 1995 accord egr help

I recently noticed my car losing power after about a half hour of driving and the other day it threw a check engine code #12 which is egr valve so i replaced it and its still doing the same thing so now im wondering if its the vaccume silinoid or could the ports be clogged my car has 149k on it. Any advice what it could be before i keep spending money on parts?...also it wont keep a steady idle it drops really low at times.... i also replace the cat converter cause some dumb mechanic obviously knows nothing about it

A code 12 means the EGR valve is not lifting properly. The problem could be with the EGR valve or the vacuum controls.

Follow the vacuum hose from the EGR valve. They lead to the vacuum controls on the driver's side of the engine bay. Check the vacuum hoses for signs of damage.

If you open the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, you can ope the online shop manuals thread. From there, you can get a 94 shop manual that shows you how to test the EGR system.

I have shop manual. I tested the system and everything passed except when i jumped the silinoid to the positive battery cable, it said there should be vaccume right away but there was none. But it dont tell me the problem.

Sounds like a page is missing from your shop manual. If I'm following you, you are at this step of the testing.....this is from the manual PA referenced, link in the Common DIY Thread sticky.

Would the egr cause me to lose power like that? It only does it after driving for a while.

Yes. Also when a code is set, the ecu can/will go into "limp mode".
