Definitely start with the items that are common, like the EGR ports.
Clean the throttle body bore and both sides of the throttle plate. Clean the IACV screen.
Maybe adjust the cable that goes from the TB to the transmission? You can do the same on the throttle cable from the gas pedal. You just want to leave a little bit of slack.
Remove the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. Do you get a strong smell of gasoline?
When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid?
Have you noticed anything else change with the car, like gas mileage, idle, etc...?

I have the same car....95 honda accord 2.2 non vtech. I had the same issue and after putting on new parts that made sense to change.....it turned out to be my ABS module and fuel pump. Now I just need to reset my idle speed. Hope this is helpful
