I got a 95 lx with a f22b2 in the backyard. Got it to run but it clearly has severe cooling, transmission suspension issues. So just for the he*l of it I decided to do a full build (mechanical). With a 10k budget I want max fuel efficiency as well as power it also has to stay auto 😥. Any suggestions?

 

When it comes to builds, there are typically options (pick any two of the three):

1. High power
2. High reliability
3. Low cost

In your case it seems you want to replace "Low cost" with "Good fuel economy"; unfortunately the "Pick any two of the three" adage still holds true.

 

Replied to your other post. For max power, you may want to consider a H22 engine/trans from a prelude. That is a common swap. The F20 engine is a bit less common, but a lot of info on that swap. The reliability comes from Honda engines being fairly reliable, just make sure you do the homework on the swap.

The engine you install depends on what you want for performance vs fuel economy.
