I found this site and thread while searching for a similar issue. My brother in law's 98 has random start up issues. The last time it would not start I pulled the plugs and every one was wet with fuel. Some where worse then others. Some cylinders had a few tablespoons of gas in them. I was wondering if the cause could be leaking injectors?

Andy, this thread is long enough. I would start your own thread to make things less confusing.

I used this thread because it appears the OP has not found a fix for his issue. I believe I may have the same problem.

Guys,

Yes, the issue is still not fixed. I was going to start up another thread to let ya guys know. ...we ended up putting in a new fuel pump and the car has started every day since. The thing is, I live in northern CA(far north) and it's about 105 degrees through the summer..the car is now parked always in the garage too where it stays hotter than outside through the night..we'll see if it still fires up this winter when it's cold out.

Take care,

Donnie

UPDATE.

I posted this in another thread I started but wanted to also put it here.

https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ad.php?t=35955

"Guys,

I don't know if you remember my issue but I had been through just about everything trying to figure out why my fiances car would not fire but only crank while the engine was cold after sitting over night...

The weather got colder and it got to the point where if the car sat outside for more than a few hours it would have real difficulty starting.

It broke down at her work, there happens to be a "mom and pop" mechanic shop right next door to her work.

They got around to looking online and...

Took the whole entire ECM out of the car, put it inside by a heater, re-installed into the car and BAM fired right up.

Took the ECM out and put it in the fridge for awhile...no start.

Took another ECM out of a junk yard car...fired right up.

ECM has been in now for 3 days, car parked outside all the time and has started every time.

Just wanted to let you guys know cause I hadn't heard of this issue before personally.

Donnie"

I've heard of ECUs failing, but it's unusual and expensive. Usually want to rule out everything else before you spend big $$ on a new ECU.
