2.2 automatic

Had a CEL pop up and then the D4 light flashes. Pulled the code

P0758 Shift solenoid B
P0700 TCM


and One time it threw a P0705/6 . Has only thrown the P0705 code once.

Replaced the solenoid and cleared code, it ran fine for a little while and it did it again. Pulled the solenoid off and it tested within spec, and it is working with power ran through it.

Tranny is a JDM with less than 60k. What the heck is going on?

 

I think you may need a new Transmission Control Module (TCM). Look around Ebay/junk yards for one that matches your model.

 

While there is no separate TCU on an OBD2 car, I agree with the sentiment. LX/DX (P0J) ECUs are cheap and plentiful at junk yards.
