Default 1997 accord high beams not working

My 1997 Accord's high beams are not working. The low beams work fine and when you click the high beams on the blue dash indicator comes on but the head lights do not switch to high beams. What could be the problem here i wanna get this car in good shape before winter gets here. Thanks.

There are a number of things.....first thing I would want to test, are you getting voltage and ground to the high beam bulbs?

not sure i have not got that far into it i will check that tomorrow. I thought maybe it was a common problem that honda diehards could just tell me what it was. But the beams do nothing the headlights don't even flash or blink when i switch over.

There is not one common problem for no high beams. It could be bad bulbs, bad wiring, lack of voltage, bad headlight switch, or lack of ground the bulb.

Testing for voltage on the red/white (driver's side) and red/orange (passenger side) bulb to a good ground (valve cover bolt or negative battery post) using a volt meter is a good place to start. Also make sure you volt meter works by testing for voltage across the battery terminals.

You can also test for ground on the black wire on the bulb socket to the known good ground you used in the voltage test to see if the blk wires have ground. The continuity or resistance setting is used for this measurement.
