Hey so ive been searching for a good write up on installing a keyless entry alarm system in my 97 LX, i havent been able to find any.

so, i have done installs in the past on other cars, and it always seems that finding the right wires is the hard part...

i am looking for locations and colors for these wires:

+ accessory
- door unlock
- door lock
- or + door trigger(s), unit has multiple door triggers but only one is needed on the accord i believe.
- or + horn
- parking lights

pictures of installed system would be great also.

any help is appreciated

 

In the Common DIY Threads there is a link to a manual that will help with this, VERY good wire diagrams on the 5th gens (94-97) IMO.

Just know, most Honda's I've seen....they love grounds to make things work....ie, to make the horn worn work, ground the relay.

 

Google search will give you the wires and location for alarm install in seconds...

 

yea, i did google it. the page that states the wires and locations refered to the model that came with the factory alarm and keyless entry, my car does not have the factory system. so it turns out to be useless to me...

I am having a similar problem I have a 1997 Honda accord lx 4 door and I purchased a keyless entry system off eBay it has options for the following

Door lock/unlock
Trunk release
Lights
Horn

I am only looking to wire in the lights and door lock/ unlock there are 3 wires for unlock 3 for lock 2 for the lights then the 12v+ and ground where do these wires go to in my vehicle I've looked at wiring diagrams but it doesn't seem to help if you have wired in a keyless entry please post pics of where you wired the door lock and unlock the lights an the 12v+ constant and the ground
