New here, i have a 96 accord, i installed a basic keyless alarm, but when i arm it, then try to open the door like if someone was breaking into it, the alarm doesnt go off, it goes off when i close the door. Does anyone have any info, like maybe i tapped the wrong wire, i didnt understand the negative and positive wires from the alarm, and does someone know which wire i can tap into, the location of it/ color/ how many pins in connector...thanks

 

It would help if you listed the brand of the alarm, post the installation instructions diagram, and describe what wires you tapped into.

Bascially, your car's system is negative trigger; so, you would follow the instructions for a negative trigger system.

THIS IS THE LINK, IM NOT USING THE RELAY( NOT SURE IF I HAVE TO, I HAVE A KILL SWITCH INSTALLED) THIS IS MY FIRST ALARM INSTALL, I TAPPED INTO THE SECURITY 3PIN CONNECTOR, THERE WAS A SIDEWINDER ALARM PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED, I KIND OF WENT OFF THOSE WIRE THEY TAPPED INTO...I GOT IT WORKING, IT WOULD ARM AND DISARM/LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS, MY MAIN CONCERN WAS GETTING IT TO SOUND WHEN OPENING THE DOOR...THANKS FOR THE HELP

For your alarm, you would connect the H8/4 Green Wire - Negative Door Switch Sensing input (page 9 of instructions) to your Accord "Door Open Input" Blk/White wire. The Door Open Input Blk/Wht wire is located behind the left side of the driver's kick panel area at the Grey 20-P connector (Connector C435). It is pin 5 on connector C435.

sorry used to all caps...i figured it out last night, i had that green wire h8/4 connected first, then i hooked up the other negative blue/white wire h8/2, and got it to work properly...thanks for the help...
