No...not yet. I am disabled and have to take the help when I can get it. My friends are more then kind when they have the time to help and like I said, one is coming over tonight to see if the slave is sticking (since it will take two of us to determine). If we don't see it sticking, should I still replace with yet another slave cylinder???

peace out,
daddy

Ok...the guy who installed it just left and he said it appears to not be closing all the way in his opinion. He also tells me that is why is gets worse as I drive the car because the more I push on the pedal and the worse it gets stuck then it is like the clutch rubbing the whole time even when the pedal is let off of. He just drove my car around the block a couple times and it ran just fine (so in his opinion it is not the clutch nor tranny or it would act up right from start up)...but he said when he looked under the hood it did not seem to return to a normal position.

So...does his findings seem like a good diagnosis??? He also said he found it odd that when we opened the box of the last one he installed that the pin was not inserted into the boot so he questions if he did that right or if there is something special you are suppose to do besides just push it in???

Also does anyone have a quick link to an exploded view of the slave cycliner so I can email to him???

Might this be a case of "Buy a cheap part, get a cheap part?" I got the last one for $12.00 at Kragens/O'Reiley's and didn't someone say the original Honda part price is like 70-80 bucks? It just seems like such a simple part...but what do I know.

peace out,
daddy

I think that you just got a bad slave cylinder out of the box. Your friend says that the slave isn't moving properly, and this happened after you replaced the slave cylinder. Get another one from O'Reillys or whatever source you want and get it installed.

Ya know...I am really surprised. I got an answer today that was really cool. Someone suggested maybe I did not bleed my system out enough and that air might be trapped in the slave and that when the car get's hot or the weather is hot the air is expanding and that is why the slave is not returning properly. Does this sound possible even though the pedal feels firm and would this problem I have be a result of this???

peace out,
daddy

Default Resolution....

Finally broke down and to it in to Aamco and they found it was a bad master cylinder. I never noticed any leaking so I did not think that was it but I guess the piston was bad and it did have tiny seal leaks, so there ya go. I have now drove it a week since fixing and everything is fine. The Price was $205.00 total for parts and labor.

peace out,
daddy
