Default difference in 2.3 vtec motors

I have a 99 accord. 5 speed. Friend pulled motor out of her 2000 accord automatic. Any difference in motors. Things need to swap? I know flywheel. Have heard intakes are different. Both motors 2.3 vtec. Thanks.

They have f23a1 LEV 150hp, f23a4 is ULEV 148hp both Vtec and f23a5 135hp which is not Vtec.

Not sure if 2000 had coilpacks instead of a distributor??? If so you might have to swap distributor & other sensors over from your old engine.

I don't think they used coil pack in the f23a engine 98-02.

Ok, the motor in my 99 accord 5 speed says F23A1. The motor I got from friend out of here 2000 accord automatic says F23A1 also. Same motor.? Somewhere I herd automatics had smaller throttle bodies. Both motors look the same. Both have distributors. Other than flexplate to flywheel. Anything else different?

I don't think the throttlebody is any different, but you could measure the bore diameter.

Your flywheel bolts are longer than what's used for the (thinner) flexplate, so use the long bolts.

I don't know of any other difference.

Not sure on the economy engines. But I know the performance engines h22/f20b ect. the autos ALWAYS had a smaller TB than the 5 speeds. I think it had something to do with the power output b/c of the transmission falling apart.

The intake manifold and throttle body part number for automatic is different than the one for manual.
