Default 1998 accord back light issue

I searched this issue here, and on Google to no avail. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Anyway, I have a 98 accord ex coupe v6, and I was switching out the clock with one I found at the junkyard which was out of a 2002 accord coupe v6. When I plugged in the hazard light that came with the clock out of the 2002. The lights on the dashboard came on while the lights were off and the hazards didn't work. But when I switched back in the old hazard light, everything was fine except now the backlight for the ac lcd comes on and the gear lights on the speedometer work, but the backlight on the speedometer doesn't work, and the ac lcd and speedometer gear lights turn off when I turn the headlights on. Pretty much those lights should come on with the headlights, but it's in reverse.

So I unplugged the old hazard lights, and plugged the one from the 2002 in and all the back lights work, but only when the headlights were off, and then turn off when the headlights come on. I thought if I fiddled with the lights with the hazard, I could reverse the problem. Also to note at one point while the car was running with the 2002 hazard. I was able to turn the key all the way to off, take the key completely out, and the car would still be running. How can I fix this and make my lights work again.

My turn signals, brake lights and hazards all work fine with the old hazards, and I checked all the fuses relating to lighting, and all looked fine. Any ideas would be appreciated as I don't have a clue of what else could of happened. With the problem being unique, it's hard to research the issue.

Wanted to add I did swap out the lighting relys under the hood, and when trying the lights again I noticed that there was a clicking sound coming from the right side of the dash. I think by the glove box if that helps. Idk if the clicking sound was always there or not, just happened to notice it when I swapped out the relys.

Thank You

Did you have the same lighting issues with the original hazard switch before reinstalling or did something change after you reinstalled the original hazard switch?

The car running after the key is removed is likely a separte issue. Did the key mechanically turn normally when you removed it and the car kept running?

The issue started when I put the hazard light from the 2002 Honda in there. But I came across a video on YouTube of someone that did the same thing, and stated that's it's a fried muktuplexer. Due to the reverse wiring from the 2002 hazard. Which makes since, and I got one from the junkyard today, and betting that's going to solve the issue. I'll post back if that's the case tomorrow when I have time to put it in tomorrow. If so, someone that comes along with the same problem will have a solution.

Thank You

Update:
It was the driver side multiplexer cpu. Replaced that and everything works fine now.
