Default 1998 Accord cruise control problem

My 1998 Honda Accord cruise control button and function does not come on at all. I have checked all related fuses ok. Please help me diagnose the problem. What is wrong?
Thanks
Alberto

is your car auto or 5spd? on my manual, i know that the vehicle speed sensor and cruise share the same fuse. if you have your speedo operartional, then it is probably not the vss, its a cruise control component like the actuator on the thrttle body, or the cable, etc.
this link, the guy seems to have your problem. try his diagnostic power flow.

I'm having the same problem as the OP. The link above is helpful, but the button and dash lights are coming on in that case (neither of mine do). It does mention that there are a few fuses that need to be checked besides the driver side fuse box. Does anyone know where these other fuses are or where I should go from here?

Post #4 if the link above will tell you all the relatable fuses. have you checked the brake/clutch safety switch? try and start to find out if it's a mechanical or electrical problem.

So if the speedo is functoning, the VSS should be okay. Is it safe to assume that if the brake lights are functioning properly, the brake switch is okay?

I tested the cruise control actuator under the hood, the repair manual mentions attaching a hot 12v lead to the motor and checking it at different positions. I hear clicking inside the unit (as it mentions), but no movement whatsoever. Is that the expected result?

I haven't looked on my Accord, but on my truck the switch at the brake pedal lost its rubber button and therefore the computer thought the brake pedal was pushed in all the time and the cruise didn't work.
