The 205 60 R16 tire/rim will be almost the same size (0.2 inches taller and same width) as the OEM 205 65 R15 tire/rim.

The 225 60 R16 tire/rim is 3.7 inches taller and .6 inches wider than stock. Your tire may bump into the upper control arm.

If you want to use the 16-inch rims, I would go with the 205 60 R16 tire mounted on the rim.

1/2-inch clearance to what again?

Parts of the steering knuckle, ball-joints, steering tie-rod all move around WITH the wheel, so it's normal for them to have pretty small clearance. Even the shock/spring moves with the wheel to some extent.

Clearance to the sheetmetal fender or to the plastic inner-fender liner is a bit different. You have to consider the extreme positions of suspension & steering. The tire width along with the wheel's offset go together in a more complicated way. As the tire tread gets wider, the tolerance in offset gets narrower.

Hi folks,
Quick question, I have 1998 accord v6, 5 bolt. Currently have 17" Acura TL Type S wheels (2003) on the car with 215/50/17. Car is also lowered a few inches.....

I'm looking for some winter tires/rims....so here is my question:

Would the 1997-2001 prelude sh rims fit on my car with 225/50/16? I know the bolt pattern and hub bore etc match up but are these tires ok for the rims?

Thanks everyone.... Your input is appreciated. Please note the rims/tires would only be for a few months of rough winter.
