Default 1998 Accord won't start

My 1998 LX Sedan stopped starting. When I turn the ignition, I hear one click, and then the power goes off, and the car is dead - no lights on the dashboard or other electrical power.

If I disconnect and reconnect the battery, the dashboard lights come up and everything's fine until I turn the ignition and then it dies again.

The battery is charged and operative.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Symptoms suggest ignition switch assy failure. Verify by measuring current to distributor and other accessories that should have power w/ key in On position. If no power, then ignition switch is confirmed.

Easy DiY. Check DIY forum and youtube for videos on the subject. Switch is usually $30-$40.

good luck
