I have a 1998 Honda Accord LX, manual transmission that has been leaking oil for the last few months. I believe I have possibly identified the area it might be coming from but am not entirely sure. Attached is a video of where I believe it is coming from as the rubber accordian housing has oil on the outside of it. I don't know what this part is. Or any other suggestions as to where it might be coming from? Any help is appreciated! To give you a perspective of how much it is leaking, while I had my car jacked up there was maybe a dime's worth of oil that dripped over the 60 minute period.

 

Hard to tell from the video, that "boot" looks like part of the trans linkage.......so the question is where is the oil coming from and "sprying" on that area.

 

Thank you for the reply! After doing some googling I think you are right on that being the boot for the transmission linkage. Will have to look some more to figure out where it is possibly spraying from. The oil is mainly on the bottom half of the boot so that means whatever it is must be spraying up...
