Lightbulb 1999 Accord fuel filter

Hi Guys, Has anyone here tried to add an inline fuel filter to their 1998-2002 Accord? I can't believe Honda would only put a fuel strainer in the tank but not an actual inline fuel filter. I am worried that after I cut the fuel line to install the inline filter, regular hose clamps would not be enough to hold the pressure.
Thanks,
Paul

Never tried....if I was going to I would get the proper hose (FI rated) and clamps....or think about adding the fittings to the metal line (flare tool needed)...go to a junk yard and cut out the fuel filter (including a few inches of the metal line, then transfer those to your line...measure the diameter of the line to be sure it is the same between yours and the "one you get"

No fuel filter? Maybe they ran out of inaccessible places to put it.

On my 94 Accord the fuel filter is hidden under the master cylinder. Almost impossible to replace.

My 1998 had the remains of what looks like a mounting place and fittings for the fuel filter. I really suspect that there IS a filter in some countries (but not USA). The fuel line comes up to the firewall & there's a funny union & banjo fitting seemingly for no reason. Yes, it's a place for the proprietary adapter for a fuel-pressure gauge, but it also looks like the filter mounting from my 95 INtegra.

You made me curious. Looks like you're right. This 1998 Accord in Australia, New Zealand had one.

That's in the back of the car. But it seems like a good place to put a filter.

I was talking about the stuff up front, like #3. I guess that's not where they put the filter any more?

Heehee. Sometimes I think I have ADD, I originally read you talked about the front location; but, when I was looking for it, that went out the door when I saw a filter in the diagram.

Your choice, but 'tis violation of Rule #1 of Backyard Mechanic Fixit Guide:
