Default 1999 honda Accord 4cyl Front Wheel Bearing

Does one have to completely remove the spindle assembly to replace the front wheel bearing on a 1999 honda Accord LX 4cyl? I saw mention of using a slide hammer to remove the hub, on some models while still on the car. Thanks

A slide hammer can pull the hub out from the bearing, usually destroying the bearing. (but you need to replace the bearing anyway??)

Using a slide hammer on the car means the upper & lower ball joints are subjected to that hammering. I'd be afraid that would lead to balljoint problems down the road.

If it's anything like a 98 Civic, you'll want to pull the spindle off and use a hydraulic press to remove and install the bearings. BTDT and it was a helluva job (did both sides).
