Default 2 different issues

I have been seeing the temp gauge near the top for quite some time and just Friday it pegged. Car is NOT puking coolant anywhere, ingesting it into the crankcase or burning it. The upper hose is hot, the lower is not. No excessive pressure in the cooling system. Radiator and coolant bottle are full.

My thoughts on this are a stuck thermostat.

I also have a CEL on as well. I have yet to check the codes and will likely do it at work on Monday. The car seems to have a miss while driving, intermittently. It usually occurs at part throttle while cruising, but does occasionally happen while accelerating from a stop.

My thoughts on this are cap and rotor. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor were new 2 years and 35K ago, but this is how it was acting then as well.

Talking Hi Member

Did you ever change your thermostate since you've had the car.?
If not I would if I were you.

I think I did change it when I first got it, but don't really remember. I have a new one waiting to go in tomorrow.

It's a 93
