I have aquired a 2000 accord lx 5spd with the 4 cyl. The car had a bad clutch we changed out the clutch and slave cylinder and now there is no reverse. Yes I bled the cylinder and it seems to be extending all the way and we also topped off the fluid in the gear box. Even trying to manually shift at the back of the tranny I can't get it into reverse. Seems very odd that all the other gears work just fine but no reverse. The previos owner said that it did go into reverse fine before the clutch gave out but who knows. Could it be a bad selector in the top of the trans and if so can I pull the top off of the trans and fix. I must be missing something any help is greatly appreciated

found out what we think is the problem seems to be the 5th gear lockout that you cant put it into reverse after 5th. Could it be possible from sitting for a year and a half that this is stuck and won't allow it to go in reverse possibly with some driving will let it free up. let me know
