Default 2000 Accord engine removal

I'm trying to remove the engine from a 2000 Accord 5 speed. Everything is loose, but when I start lifting the engine, it wont separate from the tranny. What am I missing?
Thanks

By everything is loose, I mean wiring, hoses, exhaust, motor mounts, and 7 bolts between the transmission and engine. All the engines I removed in the past have had automatic transmissions which had flywheel bolts on the engine side. I would rotate engine to remove these bolts, but I don't see those bolts on this flywheel.

There is a shaft that goes into the back of the engine from the transmission. It is the input shaft for the transmission. It sits in what is called a pilot bushing. You also have the pressure plat that is bolted to the flywheel that you have to clear. But first you need to get the shaft out of the bushing. I generally use a pry bar keeping the engine level with the transmission. If you try to lift too early it makes it more difficult to separate.

Thanks for the reply. I removed the 2 bolts on the driver's side drive shaft that goes into the block, is that good enough? Then I pried the transmission from the engine. The flywheel didn't even clear before the crankshaft pulley and the front of engine (accessory drive side) was up against the the engine bay. I'm not sure if the engine can come out without the tranny.

My only experience is with a 6th Gen auto but I don't think the engine will come out by itself w/o the trans. Check out the Online Shop Manuals thread at the sticky Common DIY and Info. Threads.

Thanks. Can it still come out the top with the trans?

Thanks LS-300, Roader, and Origami. I finally got it out. Not going to be fun putting it back in.
