Hi all,
I am chasing the same wild goose here.
1) Can anyone tell me where is the fuel pump is in 2000 Accord V6?
2) A little dumb question, how do I hear for fuel pump when the entire engine is running?!!
3) Which/where is the fuel pump relay? Does it continuously click On/Off during engine running? When do I hear it click - Key on/key start/continuous?
4) Where is the clip that stevil41 is talking about?!!

I hope to find a solution to this someday in my life myself!.. I will try to rest my ECU once, since I did not do it after I change the EGR value.

1. The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. You should be able to access the fuel pump by removing the lower part of the back seat. There will be an access panel.

2. To listen for the fuel pump when the car is not starting, turn the key to the II position, but do not try to start the car. When the check engine light does the bulb check, the fuel pump should turn on for about two seconds. It is a faint buzzing/whirling sound from the backseat, so turn off the radio, blower, etc and listen carefully. You can try this when the car is running normally so you can hear the pump turn on.

3. You will hear the clicks from the main relay when you turn the key to the II position when doing the test in step 2.

4. That clip would be on the fuel pump assembly.

I highly suggest getting a shop manual for your car. I bought one for $21.99 at automanualsource.com as a pdf you can download after payment. It will show all the steps with pictures to remove the fuel pump. It is worth the investment if you plan to do DIY work.

The engine won't run if the fuel pump isnt running, so ni some ways you don't need to hear it over the engine.

When the engine is running, the pump (& main relay) are continuously on. They don't "cycle" on & off.
