2000 Accord Idling rough
Hey all,
I have a 2000 6cyl 2.0 liter accord and it is starting to idle rough. It's a little odd because when I first start the car my RPM's are up over 1000 then after I drive for a few, the idle jumps around between about 300 and 700 (sometimes it feels like it's going to die). If it sits for about a minute it typically stabilizes at about 700 (which is about where it's supposed to be from my understanding). Anyway, my current plan is to replace the spark plugs and the PCV valve (I also put some injector cleaner in the gas yesterday).
My question is, are there any other things I should look at while I'm under the hood? These cars have so many little parts now that I don't quite know where to start:-)
Thanks and God Bless,
Michael

I would suggest stopping by an auto parts store like autozone and have them read any codes off of the engine computer. Post the code numbers on here, they start with P and have four numbers, i.e. P1234.
That would at least point you towards a faulty sensor.
Get the NGK spark plugs that are suggested in the owner's manual.

Look for vacuum leaks & fix them.
Make sure the cooling system has no air bubbles. Really.
I've written about setting the base idle, but I'm not sure if that same procedure applies to the V-6. Hope someone chimes in about that.
