Unhappy 2000 Accord Radio Replacement

I recently decided that it was time to upgrade from the stock radio to a newer radio with AUX and USB inputs because I was tired of having to use my cigarette lighter to play my iPod in my car. The AUX attachment is much easier and MUCH better quality. So, I read up on replacing the radio in 2000 Accords and all seemed very simple and easy to do. I purchased a Sony radio, took care of all the wiring and then went into my car remove the old radio. My old radio is a 2x'DIN'. I had no trouble removing the center dash panel. Next, it was time to remove the screws holding the radio in. The top screws on either side came out as expected, but the bottom two presented a problem. For some reason these screws WILL NOT unscrew. They are a silver color and have Phillips heads. The top two screws were black with similar heads. I even broke my screwdriver trying to unscrew these bottom two screws. Has anyone run into the same problem or have any ideas of how to go about removing these screws?

Thanks in advance.

They are hex. Now that you ask that question, I didn't even realize the screws were different until now.

I would use a socket on them. Most likely 8 or 10mm.

The socket wrench worked for one of the screws but the second screw will not budge. I'm soaking it in WD-40 to see if it will loosen up but I'm not too optimistic about the results. But, now it doesn't seem to be a car issue, just an issue with my novice skill with tools! If I'm not able to remove the screw with the socket wrench or screw driver I will be at a loss of ideas besides taking it to a shop.
