Set the TPS to the proper voltage (0.5 or 0.45V) now that you have the proper connector on it.

I'd also check your fuses incase having the connectors mixed up caused a fuse to blow. There is a quick way using a test light to run through the fuses very quickly. Do a search on youtube on quickly check fuses with a test light.

im checking my distributer now. Should I show 12 volts to ground on both coil terminals?

blk/yel should have 12V. What's the other wire color you want to test?

Did you do the timing yourself? Did you remove you distributer? Could be out 180 degrees

“b” terminal on the coil also has 12v to ground with key in on position. I don’t think this is right but want to be sure. With key on both a and b terminals have 12 volts to ground.

timing is confirmed. Not out 180 deg. Should I have 12v to ground on the blk/yel wire with key on and the yel/blk wire on the coil?

Both will have 12V. The wht/blk wire gets voltage through the secondary coil. The blk/wht wire should momentarily get a ground when the ICM times the spark.
