Hi all,
I've a problem with the drivers window regulator in my year 2000 . The window was going up and down fine, but when it reached the top, there was a load clicking noise before the auto cut off activated.

For a few weeks, i've been careful to avoid using the window, but today i've had a look inside the door.

The offending part is the pivot for the large gear of the regulator. The pivot is star shaped and it locates in the centre of a coil spring. The teeth of the pivot have worn and become chewed (see photo). It is made of metal (cast alloy?)

Does anybody know where i can get a replacement part? Or, would i need to get a whole new reulator / motor assembly?

Any advice gratefully received.

 

Regulators are not repairable. A used or replacement part is solution.

Check car-part.com and ebay for used. Some aftermarket regulators are very competitive w/ used parts.

Thanks for the advice. Shame that they are not repairable - most of it is fine - just this one component that is worn out.

Anyone in the UK know a window regulator specialist?

 

A-haaaa. I've found a supplier of the part i need : Honda Accord 2dr Coupe 96 2002 Left or Right Window Regulator Pin | eBay

Only trouble is, the supplier is in the US, but i am in the UK. Anyone know where i can get one of these in the UK? I have't found a suppplier yet.
