Default 2000 Honda Accord Coupe v6 Starts fine then cuts off. Will idle if I give it gas

ok so I (actually my wife) has a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe with about 140k miles on it. Today she went about 2 miles down the road to the store and when she came back out, the car cranked right up and then died, cranked right up again and then died again, and did this several more times. She called me and I told her to give it some gas and she did and it idled up and she drove it home and it ran perfectly fine. She cut it off for 5 minutes and then it cranked back up again and ran fine. I'm just worried that this will happen again in a not so convenient place and she wont be able to get it started back up. So I want to fix the problem before it really becomes one. My first thought was the fuel filter but now I'm reading that this is an in tank fuel filter so I don't think this would be the problem. Anyone else got any ideas? Was this just a fluke?

Did it throw a check-engine light?
If so, get the code.

Kinda tough if you can't catch it "in the act".
See if you can duplicate it. Start cold then drive around the block for about the same distance as she went to the store. Then park about the same length of time... etc.

no CEL. I think she may have just flooded it or something. It hasn't happened again yet.

she's now telling me that when she cranks it it usually does a quick rev up to around 2k and then drops back down. Now it's not wanting to jump above 1k and she's saying it idles rough initially. Could this be an o2 sensor? possibly clogged injectors with 140k+ miles?

I don't know. This 3rd, 3rd person diagnostics is not the most accurate way to resolve an issue. You should really experience all of this for yourself first, then report on it. I'm sure there's plenty of valuable info being lost in translation!
