2000 Honda Accord LX, Manual -Driverside Brake Lite Problem
Support,
Sorry if this is a repost, but i couldn't find anything specific to my problem in the forum. I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX, 5 speed manual, 4cl. I replaced the driverside tail lamp on the body, not tailgate. All lite bulbs, blinker & brakes where working fine before, but not afterwards. I removed the Stop lamp failure sensor from the old part and clipped onto the new tail lamp assembly. Project done....nope.
My problem is that the brake lite on the driverside does not work now. The rear window and right side brake lites work fine. I swapped the bulb for the brake lite using the right side bulb and it still did not work.
What is my best course of action to troubleshoot? Thanks for helping.

***Also, before replacing anything the "LampLight" would flash on and off on the dashboard. The brake lite was working, but I am not sure if it was not whenever this lite turned on. After the replacement the "LampLight" is always on now.

An update, since my last post at 8:53am regarding my 2000 Honda Accord LX. I turned headlights on to confirm if the rear brake bulbs were operational and confirmed they both were lit. When the brakes were pressed, i then discovered that both side brake lites were now not working, but the rear window lite was working. Not sure if I shorted something, but thought it strange to see this happen. Could this be a bad "stop lamp failure sensor"?
I did look for the fuse box under the dashboard to check that, but can't seem to find it. Is it under steering column? I must be blind.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

1998-2002 "dashboard" fuseboxes are in the 2 ends of the dashboard. Open the front door & look near the upper door hinge.
How about bad grounds? I don't think there's separate circuits for right & left brake lamps. They split apart somewhere in the back of the car.

Thanks JimBlake, I found the fuse for the rear brake lights, slot 9 on drivers side and it was blown. Replaced it and the bulbs still did not work. A friend suggested we replace both bulb just to confirm so we did and the brake lights worked again. After putting everything back together the bulbs stop working again. We checked the fuse and it was blown again. We looked at the wiring on the rear driverside tail lamp and found a loose wire that we repaired on the stop lamp failure sensor. We replaced the fuse again and both brake lights finally worked. The only thing I can think of is pulling out the plug during the intial replacement and probably causing the problem myself.
Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks for your help.
