We have a 2001 accord ex 5spd with 95k miles. It runs smooth, starts easy, idles great and gets 30 mpg. It just has absolutely no get up and go. Especially around 2,000 rpms . The clutch is fine and since it gets 30 mpg I think the timing must be pretty close to where it needs to be.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get it to run like it should?

 

A tuneup may help (distributor cap, distributor rotor, spark plugs) if it is due. Use the NGKs recommended in the owner's manual.

You might want to clean the EGR port. You will have to take off the upper part of the intake manifold to do this.
