Default 2001 Automatic Transmission lag

Hi everyone,

Posted this in the new area too......Proud Honda Accord owner. I bought a used 2001 with 64K miles a year ago. This is the first time I've had an automatic transmission in a while. It shifts fine and doesn't make noise, but I notice when you are coming to a stop, but still going maybe 3 to 5mph, then hit the gas to speed up, there seems to be a delay/lag as if the transmission is trying to catch up or something. I did have the shop replace the tranny oil about 3 months ago but I still notice it happening. It's not a huge problem, just a minor annoyance. The car has 84K on it now and have had no other problems at all.

Thanks!!

Default RE: 2001 Automatic Transmission lag

same answer as other thread. It is normal as the car wants to roll from 2nd gear until you get on the gas at which point it will move into 1st gear
