Default Cooling Fan issue!

Hey gang....just need advice on a cooling fan malfuction that just occured to me....ok...so i was just driving along...and i smelt burning from somewhere....didn't know it was my car or not..but then once i got over to a safe location, popped the hood and the smell was very strong at the cooling fan.....to my surprise it actually looked like the fan seized up and melted itself onto something it was rubbing against.....i took the fuse out and i haven't had my coolant level never went over midway.....should i be concerned? should i replace the coolant fan? has this happened to anybody else? thanks...

thanks for the reply man, you're always there!....but yea man i have a (signature) and when i first bought it...i checked all the fuses (and that was the only fuse that was burnt out) i replaced it....drove it a few days and it was fine until once day i started smelling the burning.....the fuse was still good also...so wow you're saying that it IS common...interesting...

that's not an uncommon thing to happen to a fan when it goes out/siezes up (from my experience) your fan going out isn't a common issue that I know of...

usually fans start making a bit of noise, which gets louder and louder if not replaced, and eventually you got a seize of the motor and melt down of the shroud
