Exclamation 2003 Accord Transmission question

I have 115K miles on this car. The other day it shut off and when I restarted it, the transmission would shift but not engage. After about an hr it started and shifted fine. A mechanic said these cars are known to have a screen that dislodges in the transmission causing the fluid to stop flowing. Is this true?
If not, what else could it be?

Low fluid level. Drain/replace ATF w/ Honda DW1.

Is Check Engine Light on or D4 light flashing? If yes, get the codes from AZ or ORiellys. Post them here for help.

good luck

Low fluid level makes a lot more sense than what the crook mechanic was saying.
Also, no lights came on.

How could the fluid level decrease without any leaks though?

How do you know there are no leaks?

Check fluid level. Fluid can leak from AT into cooling system and vice-versa if AT cooling loop is compromised. This would not result in ATF on the ground and can quickly damage AT.

good luck
